MilboxTouch

カードボード HMD が普及し，手軽に VR コンテンツを体験できる環境が実現してきた．一方で，現状のカードボード HMD では ON-OFF 制御を行うスイッチとしての入力機構しか備えておらず， その制約下でしかアプリケーションを作ることができなかった．本研究ではこうしたカードボード HMD のためのコントローラ作成手法を提案する．これにより HMD をなでてのスクロールやスワイプなどの操作ができる． また，コンテンツにマッチした様々なインタラクションを実現することが可能となる．例えば，釣りゲームにはリールを回すような操作を，物を投げるコンテンツには手を前に振る操作を入力するコントローラを HMD 上に実装できる． 提案手法では先行研究 ExtensionSticker の技術を用い，導電性のパターンを印刷した HMD 上をタッチして，内部に格納したスマートフォンを操作する．また，コンテンツのアプリケーションだけでなく，コントローラのパターンや HMD の図面も配信・共有が可能である．

In recent years, mobile head-mounted displays (HMD) such as Google Cardboard have become widespread allowing users to experience virtual reality (VR). However, previous mobile HMDs have offered only ON-OFF control switching, and application development has reflected this limitation. In this paper, we propose a method of creating novel controllers for mobile HMD, in which stroking the face of the HMD allows the user to control scrolling and swiping. Our method also allows specific interfaces to be matched to the VR contents. Our method built on the ExtensionSticker technique to create a novel controller for HMD. Touching the conductive pattern on the face of HMD allows the user to operate a smartphone inside the HMD. Furthermore, our method not only delivers or shares applications but also allows for controller's patterning and drawing of the HMD. This time, we conducted a makeathon to evaluate how our method encourages the user to develop a variety of VR contents. In addition, we discuss about the diversity of interactions that can be realized by our method.
